This presentation will review the concepts of the meridians (channels), chi, blood, yin and yang and how they influence overall health. A description of the main channels involved with depression and anxiety will be explained as well as how a dysfunction in these channels can lead to other health issues. Attendees will have a better understanding on how TCM, acupuncture and herbs can be used to facilitate patient progress in psychotherapy.

Karen Siegel Propis, MPH, MSOM, Dipl Ac, Dipl CH, RD, has been working in the field of acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine for approximately 15 years. After years of working as a dietitian, specializing in diabetes and eating disorders, Propis added acupuncture to her expertise and training.
Her expertise in the field saw her appointed to the Texas State Board of Examiners for Acupuncturists–ethics and licensure committees, on which she served for 5 years before moving to Michigan.
