Library

The Institute for Individual and Group Psychotherapy maintains a specialized library of over 100 articles published by the faculty, as well as substantial video recordings. These collected materials address many of the critical elements of our therapeutic model and have applicability to psychotherapists who follow differing schools of thought. We are delighted to make this resource available to the professional community.

Included in the library are many publications of our founder, Dr. Reuven Bar-Levav. This includes his two books, Thinking in the Shadow of Feelings (1988. New York: Simon and Schuster) and Every Family Needs a CEO (1995. Detroit: Fathering, Inc. Press.) Each book is available in its entirety. Dr. Bar-Levav was one of the editors of the Detroit Medical News for many years and wrote many editorials. These are also available at this website. Many of his other articles and publications are also available.

In addition to the many articles faculty members have had published in other professional journals and books, they are also published extensively in the Institute’s periodical — The International Journal of Psychotherapy and Critical Thought, which is available in its entirety.

Finally, the Library also has extensive video holdings available at our offices in Southfield, Michigan. Please contact the Institute at (248) 353-5333 for more information.
